Summer Ogg • Assistant Director

Summer was born and raised in Portsmouth, Ohio. She started seriously dance at the age of twelve in Greenup, Kentucky. She has enjoyed continuing her dance education at Ohio University where she graduated with a BFA in dance. Her training includes Modern, both Horton and Cunningham technique, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Choreography, Kinesiology, and Improv. Summer has also had the pleasure of working with performers and artists from around the country and the world. She has trained and performed with Ruben Graciani from the Joe Goode Performance Group and Zelma Badu-Young of Azaguno, a world renowned African dance and drumming ensemble. Ms. Ogg has trained under Travis Gatling, Mariah Maloney of the Trisha Brown Company, Sean Curran, Marina Wachli, Gladis Bailin, Earl Mosley of Diversity of Dance Inc., Mickie Geller, and John Bohuslawsky. Summer has also been a part of the American College Dance Festival where she has performed and been a crucial part of the Technical Crew. She has been employed by the Templeton Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium for four years as a Stage Manager. Through her work as a stage manager, Summer has had the pleasure of working with international artists and others from around the country. She has also passed her love of dance to children by teaching at Factory Street Studios in Athens, Ohio, as well as children's camps in Henderson, Nevada. Summer is proud to be a member of the Jeslyn Dance Gallery modern dance company for three years, dancing throughout the tri-state and internationally. JDG has been involved with local libraries, the Huntington Museum of Art's "Arts Integrated," Ebenezer Medical Outreach "Dancing with the Tri- State Stars," and West Virginia Dance Festival. She is also excited to join Mrs. Jessica Fox during the 2011 Spring Semester as Theater Faculty teaching dance at Marshall University.
