Take Home Treasures

Each student coming to summer classes and camps will receive a JPAC summer t-shirt, custom camp crafts, take-home costume pieces (select camps) and memories to last a lifetime.

Snack Time & Tea Parties

All campers enjoy tasty snacks every day and selected JPAC camps have a magical tea party each day. Should students have any allergies, please mark your registration accordingly.

Young Performers Camp & Pre Professional Summer Intensive

Students enrolled in these all day, week long camps will need to bring their own bag lunch including a drink. Lunches will be kept at room temperature; refrigeration is not available. Bottled water and snacks are available at the center for an additional charge.

Descriptions

Ballet Camp/American Girl Dreams Camp

Ballet students will learn about their favorite American Girl characters with this explorative based-ballet camp. In this camp, students will immerse themselves in the history, culture and lifestyle of the American girl characters while also developing their ballet technique and performance skills. At the end of the week, the campers will perform an original American girl work containing both the beauty and grace of ballet, as well as the history of another time period. This camp is open to students 6-12 years old.

International Music Camp

Join us for a full week of music and fun! Students will have the opportunity to learn new songs, improve listening skills, move creatively and experience musical instruments in a way unlike any other. Every day will feature music from a different culture as students visit far off lands to learn rhythms and musical instruments that are native to the land we are studying. This camp culminates in a live drum circle where guest artists will come and involve the entire class in a creative expression of rhythms. This fun and interactive camp is open to students 7 - 12 years old.

Mini Movers Camps

Attire: Leotards, tights and ballet slippers.

All camps run Monday through Friday 9:30am - 12:00am. Ages 3-5 years.

Angelina Ballerina Camp

This adorable little dancing mouse will lead campers through a creative week of dancing and stories written by Katharine Holabird. Each day will begin with one of Angelina's adventures and will include a ballet themed craft, snack and educational games. Angelina's dream in life is to become a famous ballerina and this camp will let each camper make their "professional" stage debut.

Ballerina Princess Tea Party Camp

Princesses-in-training will be charmed with a daily princess story and story dance with the delightful magic of Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and many more! Your little princess will be transformed as she starts her day with a warm-up, a princess craft, dining on princess treats and perfecting the traits of royalty she has learned. The end of the week will culminate in a special presentation on the last day of camp.

Fancy Nancy Camp

Frills, lace, pearls and pooches! Who doesn't love to be fancy? This camp encourages creativity in the most fancy of ways. Campers will enjoy the tales written by Jane O'Connor, including the posh puppy and bonjour butterfly. The day will begin with a "fancy makeover", making a "fancy" craft, reading the fabulous tales of Nancy and lots of fancy dance steps. Every day will also have a delicious treat to eat and the camp will culminate in a fancy parade on stage for all to see!

Strawberry Shortcake Camp

Join Strawberry and all her friends for a special week of dancing! This camp features stories and costumes plus the original Strawberry Shortcake house that makes every child's dreams of strawberry land come to life. Strawberry themed crafts, snacks and a special strawberry tea party will bring an end to this exciting camp.

Teddy Bear Camp

Cuddly, soft and lovable! What child doesn't love teddy bears? Each day, campers will be invited to bring a bear from home to share their camping experience with and to be their special dancing partner. This camp will feature stories, dances, crafts, games, songs and snacks, all with a teddy bear theme. At the end of the week, the children will enjoy putting on an exciting "teddy bear parade" for all to see.

Pre-Professional Summer Intensive

This week long intensive takes students through a hard core training process developing dance technique in ballet, modern and hip-hop, as well as, choreography, acting, voice, partnering, contact improvisation, Pilates and yoga. Each student will get individual feedback from faculty, will learn repertory from our resident modern dance company (Jeslyn Dance Gallery) and will perform in their own showcase on Friday the 8th at 7pm. Students will gain experience by working with JPAC faculty, as well as visiting artists. This camp serves as the audition for the pre-professional company for the 2008/2009 season.

Attire: Ballet students will need leotards, tights and ballet slippers. All other techniques and studies will need close fitting clothes.

Young Performers Camp

This camp is designed specifically for the young performer ages 6 to 11 years old. Each camper will receive individual attention, technical development and exposure to new areas of studies within the arts. Throughout the week, campers will be given the opportunity to take classes in theatre, voice, ballet, modern, hip-hop, tap, jazz, choreography, lighting and design, costuming, yoga and much more. Prior to camp, each camper will create a customized schedule of classes that will meet their needs for growth and development. This camp features faculty from JPAC, as well as visiting artists. (Please see the summer faculty for specific bios on who's teaching what!) Camp ends with a VIP showcase for family and friends on Friday the 8th at 6:30pm.

Attire: Campers will need attire based on their chosen schedule. Ballet students need leotards, tights and ballet slippers. All other dance techniques, acting and voice need close fitting attire.
