Mission
Our mission here at JPAC is to provide "Art in the Heart of Huntington". We feel the arts are imperative to the human spirit and should be experienced by everyone. JPAC brings art to the tri-state area by offering classes, workshops, performances and community outreach programs.
History
JPAC was founded in 2006 by current director Jessica Lynn Fox. After obtaining her degree in dance performance, education and choreography and many years of training and performing in the arts all across the country Mrs. Fox came back to her hometown to begin the biggest adventure of her life. The center is housed inside a 15,000 square foot vaudeville house that was built in 1923. With three dance studios, a main stage theatre, a retail store and a soon to come black box theatre and wellness center complete with Pilates Apparatus the center is the only one of its kind in the area. With a faculty of educated teachers and a volunteer staff that has a passion for the arts JPAC provides training that emphasizes the creative process over the product. JPAC is a non-competitive center in which the students are involved in two large productions each year, various community showcases and VIP showings for family and friends.
With a place so centered on the body and creative mind we feel a natural connection to offer a wellness program that teaches Pilates and Yoga to both children and adults. Pilates is utilized to strengthen the core while Yoga is used to expand the being.
Our performance program has allowed us to both open up opportunities for our students while also bringing the arts to the community. The Main Stage theatre (478 seats) and the Black Box theatre (250 seats) are home to in house, local and professional touring productions.
Community outreach has been important to JPAC from the start with the belief that reaching out is the only way to grow, communicate and inspire those around us. By offering community classes and performances JPAC allows students the opportunity to connect with people who would have otherwise never been exposed to the arts.
